This Repay story comes to us from Restore attender Donna:
"I had the
coolest experience tonight with a Repay card.
I've been
craving the Japanese Steakhouse since I talked with Judiann on Sunday about it
and the front desk hotel hostess recommended a restaurant yesterday about a
mile from the hotel similar to he Japanese Steakhouse. I almost ate there
last night but thought that it would be kind of strange sitting by myself
around one of those hibachi grills. So tonight I got the urge again and
so off I went.
And when I
got to the host stand at the restaurant, he told me that they had a two person
minimum to sit at the grill - but I could sit at the Sushi Bar and eat…sorry
not so much a Sushi fan -- I like my fish cooked! So he went
in and checked and then came back and asked if it was ok to sit me with another
group. So he sat me with a young gal and her little boy. So it was
just the three of us. And during our conversation, I found out her husband was in Iraq
and had been there since 2004. She had moved to Des Moines and I got the
impression that she was living with her in-laws and that she hasn't seen her
husband since around January and that he won't be back home until October
10th. And that she hadn't met a whole lot of people because they live in
a really small town just west of Des
Moines.
We continued
talking throughout dinner and I secretly told the server to combine our
tickets. I paid for the ticket and she kept waiting on her ticket …so
after a few minutes, as I got ready to leave, I handed her the Repay card and
said dinner's on me. She tried to pay me in cash and even offered to pay
the tip.
She started
tearing up as she read the card -- which of course made me tear up.
Then she
shared a little of her story about how she was a "faith based" person
and has just finished a book titled, "Secrets of the Millionaire
Mind". I didn't pry about what she meant about "faith
based" …I'm not sure if she meant Christ Follower or not and I'm not
familiar with the book that she told me that she had learned through the book
that "most millionaires made money by giving it away" and that some
people weren't good receivers. And that she was one of those not so good
receivers.
We ended up
walking out of the restaurant together and exchanged e-mail addresses and
business cards and she asked me to e-mail her the next time I'm town and that
she would like to go out to dinner again.
So pray for
Crystal and Hunter. Not too sure what the Dad's name is - but pray for
his safety and protection as he completes his last tour of Iraq. He
will then spend about a month in Alaska and
then another month in Texas before moving the
family to South Carolina towards the beginning of next year.
Thanks for
letting me share and for challenging me to once again put my faith into action."
